Doing the public's business ...

No, your township trustees don't always ponder the weighty
matters that occupied these distinguished gentlemen. But they are carrying
on in the democratic tradition of Thomas Jefferson (third from left, maybe?),
whose signature appears on the first document that later formed Washington
Township from the wilderness frontier of the new nation. Trustees are the
custodians of public money, and they are often called upon to decide zoning
matters that determine how neighbors must live together.

In public session
Meetings
are held the first and third Mondays of each month at the Township Volunteer
Fire Department at 5843 Beechwood Ave. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m., and are open
to the public.
